The Digital Storytelling Workshop Series is an initiative designed to empower students of color at UGA by providing them with the tools and space to share their personal narratives. This project aims to create a sense of safety and belonging in a predominantly white institution (PWI) by fostering community, encouraging dialogue, and promoting understanding of diverse experiences. Through a series of interactive workshops, participants will learn storytelling techniques and digital media skills, enabling them to articulate their stories through various formats, including written narratives, audio recordings, and visual art. Each workshop will include collaborative activities that build trust and encourage connection among participants, allowing students to share their experiences related to race, identity, and community in a supportive environment.

Using generative AI tools like ChatGPT and DALL-E, participants will refine their narratives and create accompanying visuals, enhancing their storytelling and providing them with innovative ways to express their identities. By showcasing their stories at a final exhibition, students will not only celebrate their individuality but also engage the broader UGA community in important conversations about race and inclusivity.
