Creating Impact for the UGA Community

We are delighted to announce the third year of the Generative AI Competition! This year, the contest will be facilitated by Lindsey Harding and Aaron Meskin and sponsored by the Office of Instruction and the Center for Teaching and Learning. And this time around, students, you’ll have. . .

Plenty of time to submit! You are welcome to submit projects between now and Friday, March 6, 2026.

Plenty of prizes!

  • First place: $600
  • Second place: $400
  • Third place: $200
  • And, winners may have a chance to share their projects in a spring symposium. Details will be forthcoming!

Guidelines: Use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL-E, Amper) to create something meaningful that enriches the UGA community/experience. 

Criteria: Submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria: 

  • Innovative use of artificial intelligence
  • Creativity
  • Impact on our local community or the lived experience of UGA community members
  • Clearly stated documentation of the development process. Note: this documentation should be extensive and comprehensively address the following:
    • Project’s purpose
    • Goals and choices guiding the development process
    • Tools and resources leveraged in creating the project
    • Detailed process notes

Formats: Format is wide open! 

Deadline: March 6, 2026

Eligibility: All currently enrolled UGA undergraduate, graduate, and professional students are eligible to submit work solo or in collaborative groups. Multidisciplinary group submissions are highly encouraged. Students may utilize work started for class assignments on the condition that the revised project is not then re-submitted as part of a class portfolio, unless the instructor has agreed in writing that the student or students may re-use this work. Students may only be involved with one submission. 

How to submit/enter: If your entry needs special accommodations, please contact the contest coordinators at generativeaicompetition@gmail.com. 

Please submit your entry and the following information via our Entry Form by 5:00pm on Friday, March 6, 2026: 

  1. information about yourself or your collaborative team
  2. the title of your submission
  3. Information about your project, including:
    1. a 300-500 word description, 
    2. any relevant instructions for use, 
    3. how the project impacts the UGA community, 
    4. how you used generative AI technologies, 
  4. detailed process documentation (see above for more about what should be included here).

All entries will be posted online. Please email us in advance [generativeaicompetition@gmail.com] if you have concerns about your work being publicly available.
