Creating Impact for the UGA Community

We are delighted to announce the return of the Generative AI Competition for its second year! This year, the contest will be facilitated by Lindsey Harding and Aaron Meskin and sponsored by the Office of Instruction. And this time around, students, you’ll have. . .

More time to submit! You are welcome to submit projects between now and March 14, 2025.

More prize funds! $100 more at each level:

  • First place: $600
  • Second place: $400
  • Third place: $200

Guidelines: Use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL-E, Amper) to create something meaningful that enriches the UGA community/experience. 

Criteria: Submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria: 

  • Innovative use of artificial intelligence
  • Creativity
  • Impact on our local community or the lived experience of UGA community members
  • Clearly stated documentation of the development process.

Formats: Format is wide open! 

Deadline: March 14, 2025

Eligibility: All currently enrolled UGA undergraduate, graduate, and professional students are eligible to submit work solo or in collaborative groups. Multidisciplinary group submissions are highly encouraged. Students may utilize work started for class assignments on the condition that the revised project is not then re-submitted as part of a class portfolio, unless the instructor has agreed in writing that the student or students may re-use this work. Students may only be involved with one submission. 

How to submit/enter: If your entry needs special accommodations, please contact the contest coordinators at generativeaicompetition@gmail.com. 

Please submit your entry and the following information via our Entry Form by 5:00pm on March 14, 2025: 

  1. information about yourself or your collaborative team
  2. the title of your submission
  3. Information about your project, including:
    1. a 300-500 word description, 
    2. any relevant instructions for use, 
    3. how the project impacts the UGA community, 
    4. how you used generative AI technologies, 
  4. a detailed process documentation. 

All entries will be posted online. Please email us in advance [generativeaicompetition@gmail.com] if you have concerns about your work being publicly available.
